What make a leader we have had many famous leaders from Julius Caesar to Robert Menzies. What did they have that made them leaders?

Presences when I got taken through old parliament house an old hand told me that there was only two Leaders, Ming the merciless and Paul Keating, they had presence. This was a combination of courage and intelligence a potent mix.

Friendly Firm and Fair  is something that all leaders know it was taught to me in cadets 40 years ago by a warrant officer who fought in famous battle of Long Tan when I was  on a under offices course at Woodside.

Surprise a leaders takes you by surprise when Hitler invaded Russia they were in shock. A million troops crossed the border and a declaration of war was given to the Russian embassy who quickly went to ring Russia only to find the Germans had cut all phone links.

Calculated risk Caesar knew when he returned to Rome he would not be welcomed by Pompeii he decided to cross the Tiber river with his troops who had two choices drown as they were pushed back to the river or fight for their lives and win against Pompeii superior numbers

Prudence the ability to govern with a level head and not be swept away with emotion. Critical thinking, despite being rejected by his party Ming knew his time would come again he just applied critical thinking.
